High - resolution b/w monitors especially designed for application on computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging
Up until a few years ago, application of colour monitors in computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging was inconceivable.
On the one hand, high-resolution colour monitors were simply not available at that time, and, on the other hand, radiologists did not see any advantage in image diagnosis either.
Due to the rapid developments made in the computer industry, inexpensive high-resolution colours can be produced today.
It is purely the economical aspect of tomograph manufacturers that provides the reason as to why these monitors have been
used ever increasingly in computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging in the last few years.
However, it cannot be denied that an unambiguous quality flaw has consequently been incorporated.
It is precisely in radiology, where diagnosis has been conducated in grey stages for decades now,
that this loss has only been accepted reluctantly. Many operators have already acknowledged this and complain of these losses in quality.
Solutions are already available. However, tomograph manufacturers /Toshiba, GE, Philips and Siemens) keep quiet about providing high - resolution b/w monitors with far better resolution capability.
